(Quirk) Pimentel Posted: Thursday, Dec 31st, 2009 The News Times, Newport, OR KATHRYN A. QUIRK PIMENTEL Kathryn A. (Quirk) Pimentel, 49, died Dec. 27, 2009 in McMinnville, Ore. She was born March 20, 1960 in Kansas City, Mo. She moved to Beaverton in 1969 and attended St. Mary's Catholic School. She moved to Newport in 1983 with her husband and three children. She was employed at Pacific Communities Hospital in Newport in the admitting department, and then worked in respiratory therapy, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. She loved and appreciated every minute spent with family and friends. She was a woman of faith and attended St. James Catholic Church in McMinnville, where she found serenity and acceptance. A handful of her passions in life were her grandchildren, gardening, animals, dancing, fishing, camping and beautiful sunsets. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Quirk, and brother, John Quirk. She is survived by her companion Kenneth Schmidt; mother, Carol Anne Quirk; daughters, Keli Anne Pimentel and Karey Marie Pimentel of Lincoln County; son, Peter Lopes Pimentel II of Portland; brother, Donald Quirk; sister Molly Brown; (mother) June Pimentel; grandsons, Curtis, Tucker and Mathew Scott; and nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 9, 2010 at St. James Catholic Church, 1145 NE First St., in McMinnville. Macy and Son Funeral Home in McMinnville is handling arrangements.
