Shirlie married "Bud" Wood in 1951, a union that lasted 60 years and produced two sons; Chris and Michael as well as six cherished grandchildren: Joe, Rob, Kelsie, Jill, John & Jarron; and many great grandchildren. Shirlie worked at Newport Safeway for 28 years as well as several years at Illingworths. She "Made the day" for many of us who shopped Safeway with her humor, wit and good nature. She was much loved by her Safeway 'Family' who assisted her greatly in her final years as did her neighbors Lyle and Darcy Hammond and the Read family. Shirlie lived in Toledo for most of her 66 years in the area and spent the final days of her life at her son Chris' home in Nampa, Idaho where she passed away on September 18, 2013. Shirlie is preceded in death by her husband: Bud and is survived by her sons: Chris (Patty), Michael (Deborah); sister: June; and her many beloved grandchildren.
