Hagg Russell H. Hagg, 96 a longtime resident of Yachats, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2013 in Elk Grove, CA. He was born on a farm near Amidon, North Dakota to Harry C. and Rosezella Hagg on January 25, 1917. His family later moved to Eugene, Oregon where he grew up and played football on the Eugene High School state champion ship team. Russ married Jean Lewis in Eugene on January 31, 1943, who preceded him in death. He is survived by two sons; Tom (Lori) of Okinawa, Japan, and Dick (Cecilia) of Elk Grove, CA; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Russ retired from the Southern Pacific Railroad after 42 years of employment in Eugene and Roseburg, OR. After retiring he moved permanently to Yachats, OR after spending many vacations and holidays there. He loved living in Yachats and spent many years as a volunteer at the Chamber of Commerce visitor center where everyone agreed, he never met a stranger. No service is planned at this time.
