He was born Oct. 11, 1935 to Ran and Esther Tower in Albany, Ore. He was a professional salmon fisherman and fished commercially for 55 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid hunter and sport fisherman. He was a life member of the North American Hunting Club, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the NRA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ran and Esther Tower, and his first wife, Peggy Ann Tower. He is survived by his wife, Ione Tower of Newport; sister, Elenor Burris of Albany; sons, Randy (Claudia) Tower of South Beach and Barry (Patty) Tower of Toledo; stepdaughters, Tina (Craig) Huber, Coylena (Toby) Kowalski and Tammy (Corey) Vance; grandsons Shannon (Stephanie) Tower of Darby, Mont., Eric Tower of Toledo and Chris Tower of Siletz; two step-grandsons; four step-granddaughters; and two great-grandsons. A celebration of life service for family and friends will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at the Shilo Inn in Newport.
