She was 86. Mae was born Nov. 22, 1923, to Mary and Rodney Bowman in Ballston, Ore. She went to school and later worked in Sheridan. She and her husband, Sandy Parker, were married for approximately 40 years. They ran a successful jewelry manufacturing and repair business in downtown Portland. They retired to Lincoln City in 1985. Mae was a fun-loving friend to many people and had friends all over Oregon. She and Sandy were members of the Ladies Oriental Shrine and Shriners, respectively. She was Past High Priestess of Al Zahrah Court #58, Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America in Portland. She and Sandy were active members of both the Elks and Eagles Lodges of Lincoln City. Mae moved to Sherwood into a small cottage in the woods built by her daughters and sons-in-law in 2004, where she spent her final years with her daughter, Lori, son-in-law, Gregg, and her two grandsons, Jenson and Ty. She is survived by her daughters, Joyce Martin of Phoenix, Penny Amy of Las Vegas, and Lori Storm of Sherwood, Ore.; stepson Dan Parker of Portland; grandchildren Jenson, Ty, Nicole, Sam, Lisa and Chrissy; and Mike Corkum, a good friend and caregiver to her for many years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Shriners Children's Hospital. In remembrance of Mae's life, a gathering of her friends and family will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at the home of Lori and Gregg Storm, 25749 S.W. Rein Road, Sherwood.
