He was born Aug. 29, 1958 to Marjorie and Robert Poland in Canoga Park, Calif. His family moved to Oregon when he was a young boy. He grew to love the outdoors, animals, fishing and, later, golf. He was employed with Thompson's Sanitary Service. He was a loving and devoted family man. He was a giving and helpful friend to many. His greatest gift was the ability to make anyone laugh with his quick witty humor. He is survived by his wife, Debra Creighton Poland, of Depoe Bay; daughter, Jenny (Vern) Hatfield of Medford; and grandchildren, Michael, Evan and Maddie, all of Medford. A celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at the Depoe Bay City Park. Memorial donations may be made to: Brian Poland Memorial Trust Fund at any local West Coast Bank.
