She was born May 8, 1914 to Anton and Jennie Gustafson in Newport. The Gustafson family came to Newport in 1910. Anton Gustafson was chief in charge of the Coast Guard Station at his retirement in 1933. The family lived on the same street in Newport for 100 years. She met her husband, Fred M. Robinson, at the old natatorium when his Naval ship came in to celebrate Loyalty Day. They married in 1936, and he passed away in 1968. She leaves behind many wonderful memories of family gatherings and her piano music, which everyone enjoyed hearing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Jennie Gustafson; brothers, Clarence, Loren and Everett (Eppie); sister, Alta Gustafson Halsey; and grandson, Michael Long. She is survived by her daughters, Zerna (Richard) Ray, Edla (David) Bushman and Freda (Craig) Hart; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
