Holmberg, 71, of Neotsu, Ore., died Oct. 2, 2010 in Portland. He was born Dec. 27, 1938 to Oscar and Edna Holmberg in Brockton, Mass. He graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor of Science degree. He was an active member of the Lincoln City Kiwanis chapter since moving to the area in 1990. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Karen Olson Holmberg; nephews, Greg Holmberg, Randy Hill, Darren Hill and Brett Hill; and niece, Mindy Sumner. A celebration of life service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9, at the Congregational Church of Lincoln City, with a private burial to follow at Pacific View Memorial Gardens in Otis. Memorial donations may be made to the Lincoln County Animal Shelter, 510 NE Harney St., Newport, OR 97365. Bateman Funeral Home in Newport is handling arrangements.
