She was born May 20, 1930 to Rose (Lyons) and Alexander Westerberg in Lincoln County. She graduated from Newport High School in 1949. She and her husband, Don Miles, were married in Newport on June 30, 1949. She worked 21 years as a cook for the Lincoln County School District and enjoyed the many friends she made while working there. After her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ken Westerberg; and grandson, Rodney Olsen. She is survived by her husband, Don Miles; children, Loretta (Ed) Wiles, Lavon Olsen, Randy (Michelle) Miles, Scott (Joël) Miles; siblings, Don (Donna) Westerberg and Peg (Bill) Fry; grandchildren, Krista (Aaron) Moatz, Johnny (Shannon) Wiles, Amy Olsen, Gabe Miles, Jeff Miles, Erin Miles and Max Miles; and two great-grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held in the near future. Memorial donations may be made to PCHD Foundation Hospice Program, 930 SW Abbey St., Newport, OR 97365.
