She was born May 4, 1927 in Philadelphia, Pa. She married Robert Black, who preceded her in death in 2002. There will a be a Remembering Service at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, in the Pacific Sanctuary at Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital, 930 SW Abbey St. in Newport, where Irene was an active hospice volunteer for many years.
