She was born Nov. 18, 1920 to George and Lillian Reynolds in Portland. She was referred to as Mary Beth by many who knew her. As a young girl, she loved to play the piano, read, sew and cook. Her participation in the Rainbow Girl Program taught her the joys of helping others through charity work and arts and crafts. In high school, she met Donald R. Wilson, and they were married prior to World War II in 1943. Her husband joined the Air Force and served as a pilot. During that time, she enrolled in nursing school to ultimately give back to others in need. She and her husband started their family after the war, and she gave birth to daughter, Claudia and son, Dee. Her family ultimately grew to include three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to being a mother, she also found great purpose in life as a nurse, where she helped provide for her family as well as tend to the care of those suffering in hospitals. She continued helping others in need as a social worker in public health. She was fond of the cool coastal weather, and they opted to retire in Lincoln City. She and Donald purchased the Lancer Street House in 1990 and her husband customized the kitchen for her so that she could cook with ease. She loved the Lancer Street House and lived there until her death surrounded by her family and loyal neighbors. She is survived by her sister, Anne (Reynolds) Leo. A memorial service was held Feb. 19 at her home. Affordable Burial and Cremation in Lincoln City is handling arrangements.
