She was born to Roy Whitney and Helen Whitney (Mills) in Oakland, Calif. She married Danny Lee Rector on March 17, 1970 at Long Beach Naval Station in California. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, beading and quilting. She loved crowds of people and having fun, and her family remembers her as a kind and wonderful person. She was a member of the Baha'i Faith. She is survived by her husband, Dan Rector, of Waldport; daughters, Kathy Tucker of Sacramento, Calif., Laurie Theodoroff of Hayden, Idaho, Jennifer Korn, of Post Falls, Idaho and Kimberely Rector of Post Falls, Idaho; sisters, Dianne Whitney of Portland, Mary Whitney of Estacada and Laurie Whitney of Salt Lake City. A celebration of life was held Feb. 13. Memorial donations may be made to any Umpqua Bank location. Affordable Burial and Cremation is handling arrangements.
