He was born April 12, 1927 to John and Anna (Stadleberger) Elsperger in Cando, N.D. He was married to Lois Grasser for 60 years. Together, they owned and operated a farm in North Dakota for 25 years. After selling the farm, they moved to Arizona, where he became a salesman for a feed company in Mesa. He was a longtime member of the Elks and liked to walk from his home by the D River to the local lodge to visit with other members. He was preceded in death by his son, Mike Elsperger. He is survived by his wife, Lois; sons, Dennis (Jacki) Elsperger, Mitch Elsperger of Lincoln City, and Joe Elsperger of Palm Springs, Calif.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A private memorial in Cando, N.D. will be held at a later date. Pacific View Memorial Chapel in Lincoln City is handling arrangements.
