He was born Nov. 1, 1925 in Philadelphia, Pa. He was a U.S. Marine Corps sniper who served in World War II, Guam and the Mariana Islands. He married Betty Martin on August 30, 1957 in Arlington, Va. He spent several years in the baking business, and then retired after several years working in real estate. He realized his dream of living on the coast in 2002. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty McCrimmon of Waldport; daughters, Georgi Dietman of Waldport, Kelly McCrimmon of Casper, Wyo., Maxie Howrish of Casper, Wyo. and Gina Smith of Colorado Springs, Colo.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Private family services will be held in the spring on the Oregon coast. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Samaritan Pacific Hospice, P.O. Box 945, Newport OR 97365.
