He was born Nov. 21, 1942 to Raymond Carl Stanford and Marta (Vitelli) Stanford in Los Angeles, Calif. In 1962, he graduated from Lowell High School in San Francisco, and he studied for two years at College of the Desert in Palm Springs. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 to 1966. He worked for 30 years with the Federal Aviation Administration in Anchorage. He was a logistics specialist in the FAA fleet. In 1967, he married Marie, and they had a son, Steven Elliott, in 1969. He and Marie later divorced in 1977. In 1984, he married Susan (Hamilton) while on a cruise in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. In Alaska before retirement, he was a technical director for many local Anchorage Community Theatre productions over a 15-year period. Since coming to Oregon, he was involved with WCP, South Lincoln Resources and Seashore Literacy Center. He was a member of Waldport Foursquare Church. He was a charter member of the Waldport Citizen's Patrol. He loved gardening. He was an accomplished bead artist. He was also a harmonica player on the worship team at his church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marta and Ray Stanford. He is survived by his wife, Sue Stanford, of Waldport; son, Steven (Anjie) Elliott Stanford of Anchorage, Alaska; daughter, Kimberly (Brandon) Marlow of Fall City, Wash.; and grandchildren, Seth Allen Reisinger and Gabriel Carl Reisinger. A celebration of life will be announced in November. Memorial donations may be made to South Lincoln Resources, Seashore Literacy Center, Waldport Citizen's Patrol, Wounded Warrior Project, Oregon Humane Society or Waldport Foursquare Church.
