She was born July 12, 1961 to Patricia Ann and Jack Herbert Ragsdale in Cottage Grove, Ore. Teresa was raised by Patricia and Floyd Dale Ferguson. Teresa and her mother moved to Toledo when she was three months old, then she moved to California when she was 15 and then to the Portland area for several years. Teresa settled back on the Oregon coast in 1998, where she remained until her death. Teresa completed her GED and some college courses at Oregon Coast Community College. She was married twice, first to Michael James Bluthardt in July 1977. Latisha Krystal Dawn Ferguson was born from this marriage. Then in 1982, she married Robert David Thorner, having Rikki Thai Ann and Joshua Robert David Thorner. She sold photo packages for Jeffery Allan Photography, dealt Blackjack in many places, and for the remainder of her life was a writer and poet. Teresa's goal in life was to have her poetry published one day. She loved spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She loved roller skating as a teenager, also hunting for agates and treasures on the beach and fishing in the bay. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Herbert Ragsdale; grandparents, Paul and Edith Hollyman, John Thomas and Irene Ferguson, and, Jim and Gwen Larson; and great-grandmother Linnie Smith. She is survived by her parents, Patty and Floyd Ferguson; daughters, Latisha (Darold) Edwards and Rikki (Jeff) Bassman; son, Josh (Stepanie) Thorner; brothers, Rick (Kim) Ferguson, Kevin Ferguson and Keith Ferguson; sister, Kerrie (Mitch) Howell; grandchildren, Josie, Chelsie, Taralynn, Hailey, Kenzie, Kendelynn, Mia and David; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, at Bateman Funeral Home, 915 NE Yaquina Heights Dr. in Newport, followed by a celebration of life potluck at Yaquina Bay Yacht Club, 750 SE Bay Blvd. on Newport's Bayfront.
