He was born Aug. 5, 1958 to Leonard Robert Derbin Sr. and Katherine (Tkachyk) Derbin in Denver, Colo. He retired from the United Parcel Service (UPS). He was a die-hard Bronco fan who was most comfortable when he was in the woods, where he enjoyed hunting and camping. He enjoyed practical jokes and telling stories of his childhood. He was known as a kind, generous man and a loving father. His helpfulness exceeded expectations, and he could be counted on for anything. He is survived by his wife, Ginger Derbin; two children, Brandon (Rachael Easley) Derbin of Lake Oswego and Whitney (Joseph Cooley) Derbin of Hillsboro; siblings Cheryl Wise, of Florence, Terry (Jackie) Derbin of Illinois, and Marty Derbin of Colorado. A celebration of life, with a Denver Broncos theme, will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Yaquina Bay Yacht Club, 750 SE Bay Blvd., Newport.
