He was born Sept. 29, 1938 to William N. Keepers and Eugenia F. Young in Eugene, Ore. He graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in 1958. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1958 to 1962. He married Barbara Miller on April 19, 1969. He retired from Pennington Crossarm Co., where he worked as a trim saw operator. He worked in the lumber industry most of his life. He was a member of the Trent Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon and elder. He was a lifelong resident of Pleasant Hill, where he enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting and the Oregon Ducks. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean (Miller) Keepers of Lincoln City; two children, William (Season) Keepers of Silverton and Genie Keepers of Lincoln City; siblings, twin sister Nadine Keepers of Eugene, Carol Ager of Roseburg, Walt Keepers of Pleasant Hill, Thelma Mathis of Prescott, Ariz. and Clara Harris of Woodburn; and three grandchildren. A celebration of life will be at 4 p.m. on Aug. 22 at the Trent Church of Christ in Dexter. Memorial donations may be made to Parkinson's research.
