She was born May 12, 1967 to Susan and John Fortune in Salem. She grew up in Newport, where she played on the beach and learned to ride her bike. Her family moved to Klamath Falls when she was nine. She graduated from Mazama High School in 1985. She graduated from Oregon State University with a B.S. in psychology and received her M.S. in psychology from Portland State University. She married David Langler on Sept. 14, 1996. She had known David since childhood due to the fact that their mothers have been friends for 50 years. Their son, Evan, was born in 2002. She worked as a licensed counselor in Minnesota and had just become licensed in Oregon. Amy, David and Evan moved back to Oregon in 2007, when David accepted a job with Nike. She relished being at home with her son and volunteering at his elementary school as the library volunteer coordinator. She enjoyed camping and was acquiring camping gear so she could enjoy the outdoors with her family. She will be remembered for her wit and sass at soccer and basketball games, pack meetings and on the daily walk to school, as well as her generosity as a comrade in parenting and as a school volunteer. She is survived by her husband, David; son, Evan; parents, Susan and John Fortune; sister, Ellen (Bill) Bradley; brother, Peter Fortune; brother-in-law Michael Langler; parents-in-law Jim and Nancy Langler; and nephews, John and Sam Bradley.
