He was born Dec. 14, 1934 in Hollywood, Calif. He served in the U.S. Navy for eight years as an electrician's mate. He enjoyed fishing and taking rides down the Oregon coast. He was a prolific reader, loved gardening and sharing his vegetables, stories and a kind word with friends and neighbors. He always maintained a positive outlook. He is survived by his wife, Margo; children, Scott, Robbie and Anita; and grandchildren, Jessie, Paula, Shawna, Christy and Nicole. Friends may call at a Mass Intentions to be held 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 22, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 927 N. Coast Highway in Newport.
