He was born Dec. 23, 1954 in Gardena, Calif. to Edwin and Marie (Drown) Martin. He attended Citrus Junior College and Pasadena Junior College. He was involved in many fields, including public relations, but enjoyed working with people face to face the most. He was affiliated with amateur rockets, which were activated in the southern California desert. National Geographic filmed some of their work, which was seen worldwide. He was an amateur scriptwriter for movies and an active member of Friends of the Library in Central Point, Ore. He was a member of the Unity of the Foothills Church in Covina. He is survived by his mother, Marie Martin of Lincoln City; sister, Michelle Lawhorn of Tillamook; brothers, Dennis Martin of Woodinville, Wash., Brian Martin of Hoquiam, Wash. and Brent Martin of Medford; nieces, Nicole Zook and Shiloh Martin; and nephews, Shannon Lawhorn and Mason Martin. Services were held at George Vogel Park in Lincoln City. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Children's Hospital in Portland.
