He was born Aug. 21, 1930, the only son of Levi and Ethel Everson Lindh, in Portland. His mother died when he was 12, and he was raised by his aunt Hattie and uncle Willis Everson in Waldport, where he attended grade school and high school through the 11th grade. He graduated from Corvallis High School in 1948. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Caroline DeJong on Aug. 8, 1953 in Sheridan, Ore. Lowell began his working career as a route driver for Patton News Agency and was also employed as a trapper for the Benton County Animal Damage Control unit for eight years. He will be remembered as a quiet gentle man who loved spending time with his family and in the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Ethel Everson Lindh. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Caroline; daughters and sons-in-law, Jacquelyn Dee and Bernard Lindh of Walnut Creek and Terri Rae and Kenneth Neil Avery of Corvallis; and grandchildren Jonathan, Katie, Matthew and Sara. A funeral service will be at noon Saturday, Aug. 21, at McHenry Funeral Home, 206 NW Fifth St. in Corvallis.
