He was born Dec. 5, 1945 to Owen and Patricia Henry in Klamath Falls. He graduated from San Leandro High School and completed two years of college. He spent his childhood in Walla Walla, Wash. then in San Leandro, Calif. He followed his family to Anacortes, Wash. in the San Juan Islands. He then moved to Oregon, where he finally settled in Lincoln City, on the Siletz River. Over the years, he held several different types of occupations. He worked in the office of his father's real estate business. He was employed as a machinist for several years for companies like Caterpillar Tractor. He owned a small baseball card shop in Anacortes. He drove a truck across the western United States and Canada. He also worked in the casino business for 15 years as a blackjack and craps dealer until he retired two years ago. He enjoyed many interests and hobbies. Among them were refinishing furniture, duck hunting, antiques and collecting a variety of things over the years. He coached little league years ago. He also liked playing online poker, but his true passion was fishing. He loved living on the Siletz River and being a part of the river family. He was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his father, Owen Henry. He is survived by his wife, Melody Lynn Henry of Lincoln City; mother, Patricia Henry of Anacortes; daughter, Heather (TJ) Barker of Livermore, Calif.; son, Matthew Henry of Anacortes; stepsons, Ryan and Bo Clements; brother Gary (Kate Tibbetts) Henry of Anacortes; nieces, Sarah (Darwin Slaton Feliz) Henry and their son Oliver of Anacortes and Molly (Bill) Aloe of Seattle, Wash.; and granddaughter, Kelsey Barker of Livermore. A celebration of life service will be at 1 p.m. on Sept. 11 at Chinook Bend Resort, located at 2920 Siletz Highway, with a reception following.
