He was born March 29, 1935 to Robert Orvis Young Sr. and Sabra Elizabeth (Ellis) Young. He graduated from Eugene High School in 1954. He married Ilene Young in Reno, Nev. He was a member of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF), and Pacific Northwest Koi Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Sabra Young. He is survived by his wife, Ilene Young; children, Sabra Ann Musgrove, Karen Ilene Fretwell and Sharon Kathleen Young; sister, Kim Wadsworth; brother, Robert Orvis Young Jr.; and grandchildren, Allen Toelken, Kyle Toelken, Ian Musgrove, Marisa Musgrove and Kaitlyn Fretwell. A celebration of life will be at 3 p.m. on Aug. 1 in the Fireside Room at the Embarcadero Resort Hotel, 1000 SE Bay Blvd. in Newport. Bateman Funeral Home in Newport is handling arrangements.
