He was born Feb. 23, 1961 to Bob and Maris Keck in Seattle, Wash. He grew up in both Washington and Alaska. He loved the Northwest because of all the outdoor activities he enjoyed. In 1979, he graduated from Meadowdale High School in Edmonds, Wash. After high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force and was proud to have served in the military. He later moved back to Washington and started working for Boeing. In the spring of 1990, he was at his grandmother's house and the phone rang. When he answered, little did he know that he was talking to his future wife - except she was in Nebraska. She was doing surveys for the Gallup Organization and his number was on her list. After a telephone romance, he moved to Nebraska to be with Debbie, and in 1997, they were married in Malmo, Neb. They lived in Weston, Neb. with their son Casey and assorted cats and dogs for several years. He loved the small town life and served on the Weston Volunteer Fire Dept. for 10 years. After his mother-in-law died, they moved to Lincoln, Neb., where he worked as a med aide at O.U.R. Homes. About three years later, when his wife was unable to work, they moved to Lincoln City. He loved Oregon and enjoyed telling people he lived five blocks from the ocean. Although his health prevented him from doing a lot of things he enjoyed, he stayed busy. He loved sports, especially football and baseball, an interest he shared with his mother. He loved riding his motorcycle and went to the Sturgis bike rally for the past five years. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Isabel Davis; uncle, Bob Davis; and mother-in-law Anne Wheeler. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Keck, of Lincoln City; children, Kristen (Eric) Benzo, Amanda Keck, Bobby Keck and Casey Wheeler; brothers, William Keck of Vallejo, Calif. and Rob (Cindy) Keck of Sultan, Wash.; parents, Bob and Maris Keck of Vallejo, Calif.; grandfather, R.B. Davis; and grandchild, Leo Benzo. A celebration of life was held at his home on Nov. 5. Memorial donations may be made to a local fire department. Affordable Burial and Cremation in Lincoln City is handling arrangements. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
