He was born Nov. 23, 1934 to Alonzo and Irene Weinmann in Altadena, Calif. He attended Pasadena High School, Pasadena City College and graduated from Claremont Men's College in 1956. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve. On Aug. 31, 1956, he married Mary Elizabeth Dickson, his wife of 54 years. He lived in southern California for most of his life, working as an accountant and business executive at many companies, including Sierra Electric and Hehr International as vice president until retiring in 2000 and moving to Depoe Bay. He was a tireless volunteer for many organizations, including serving on the Vestry at St. James Episcopal Church, as a Cubmaster for the Boy Scouts of America, a mentor with Junior Achievement and several other community organizations. He will be especially remembered for his volunteerism and the help he always offered willingly to family and friends. During his retirement, he worked tirelessly to care for his wife, Mary, for many years. He was, above all, a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo and Irene. He is survived by his wife, Mary of Depoe Bay; sons, Paul of Richland, Wash., Mark of Concord, Calif. and Steven of Laguna Hills, Calif.; sisters, Irene and Mimi of Los Osos, Calif.; and grandchildren, Amanda, Derek, Jayson, Jazlyn and Brieanna. His final wishes were for all family and friends to remember the good times and live life to the fullest but always help others. His ashes will be spread at sea near his final home of Depoe Bay at a future date. Relatives and friends will be notified when this will occur. The family will also hold a remembrance gathering to memorialize him at a future date near his surviving family in California. Bateman Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
