She was born Feb. 7, 1920 in Las Animas, Colo. and continued to live in the area until moving to Toledo, Ore. in 1948 with her husband, Sam Short, and daughters, Judith and Sharon. She and Sam moved to Corvallis in 1993. She was a beloved wife and mother, a talented seamstress, a wonderful friend and always a gracious lady who will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Sam Short; daughters, Judith (Tom) Peterson and Sharon (Martin) Bushue; grandchildren, Scott Hansen, Karen Lucero, Shannon Cedergreen and Renee Cedergreen; and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at noon on Saturday, Nov. 6, at Sweet Home Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. April Hall Cutting. Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home in Junction City is handling arrangements.
