She was born Oct. 1, 1926 to Henry and Rosella Theesfeld in Kankakee, Ill. While attending college in Eugene, she met Walter "Lee" Wade, where he worked for Kendales Photography Studio. They were married on April 28, 1951 and moved to Otter Rock. After four years in Otter Rock, they moved to Newport, where they raised their family in a town they loved to call their home for 38 years. After retirement, they decided to move up the Alsea River to Tidewater, where for the last 17 years, they have enjoyed living next to the river. She loved the outdoors, working in her gardens, fishing, pheasant hunting, or just sitting on her deck on the Alsea River enjoying nature. She was an extraordinary oil painter, and has left many beautiful paintings for her family to enjoy. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Lee Wade, and daughters, Claudia Capri and Michelle Stanger, all of Tidewater; seven grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5, at Bateman Funeral Home, 915 NE Yaquina Heights Dr. in Newport. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at St. Johns Episcopal Church, 110 NE Alder St. in Toledo, with burial to follow at the Toledo Cemetery.
