She was born Nov. 26, 1917 to John R. and Florence M. Gregg in Seattle, Wash. She married Carl R. Johnson on May 16, 1939. She and Carl operated the King to the Seas Restaurant from 1962 until 1990, at which time they retired. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Florence Gregg; her husband of 64 years, Carl Johnson; and her daughter, Lana J. Doty. She is survived by her daughters, Lola J. McDonough and Kathy D. Owens of Newport; grandchildren, Brian (Toni) Doty of McMinnville, Mark (Donica) Doty of Siletz, Sean (Dori) Doty of Prairie City, Shannon (Jim) Aubert of Siletz, Kevin (Ana) McDonough of St. Johns, Fla., Dana Jacobson and Tami Goodell of Clarkston, Wash. and Joey (Katie) Owens of Kennewick, Wash.; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. A funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 10, at Bateman Funeral Home, 915 NE Yaquina Heights Dr. in Newport. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Newport Booster Club.
