She was born Jan. 6, 1930 to Clinton and Emily Gregory in Tenino, Wash. and was raised in the Alsea and Newport areas. She married the love of her life, George E. Gray (Ol' Dad), on March 12, 1948. She graduated from Newport High School in June 1948. She was then a farmer's wife for 15 years before going to work outside the home. She worked at Toledo City Hall for approximately 28 years, the last decade as Toledo City Recorder. She was a member of the Siletz Gospel Tabernacle Church, Toledo Lady Elks, and Toledo Holy Roller RV Club, and was one of the original organizers of the Toledo TOPS Group. She enjoyed camping, hunting and knitting - making beautiful sweaters for her family. She and her husband were one of the best old time dancing couples in the county. And she loved reading her Bible. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton and Emily Gregory; her husband, George Gray; brothers, Clinton and Arthur Gregory; and sister Janenne Abbas. She is survived by her two children, Cody Gray and Ginger (Tim) Terris; six grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, at the Siletz Gospel Tabernacle Church, 164 NE Palmer St., with a potluck to follow at the church.
