She was born July 15, 1917 to Erminie and Charles Hart Sr. in New Brunswick, N.J. She spent her childhood in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her father was a composer, pianist, and life member of the Bohemian Grove, who wrote the Fiesta music for the opening of the Golden Gate Bridge in 1937. She went to Stanford University for two years while pursuing her interests in art and horseback riding. After her family moved to Los Angeles, she worked as a secretary while her husband, Ray, was employed at Lockheed. He also served seven years in the Navy before and during WWII. They both became commercial photographers after graduating from the Art Center School. In 1965, they changed careers and moved to Chico, Calif., as co-owner/managers of a motel. After retirement, they lived in Paradise, Calif.; Waldport; and finally at Sea Aire Assisted Living Facility in Yachats. They remained together for 61 years, until Ray's death in August 2006. She enjoyed watercolor painting, listening to classical music, conversational French, mystery novels, gardening and the beauty of nature. She is survived by daughter, Elaine, and son, Donald; son-in-law, Joseph Jadick, and daughter-in-law, Lori; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. At her request, no services are planned. Inurnment will rejoin Eleanor and Ray in a double niche at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Bateman Funeral Home in Newport is handling arrangements. Note: "Yachats" is pronounced "Ya-hots".
