She was born July 21, 1970 to Teresa Robb and John Miller in Chula Vista, Calif. She attended grade school and junior high school in Siletz and graduated from Toledo High School in 1988. She then attended Linn Benton Community College and Western Oregon University. She was married to Kenneth Nelson, and together they had three children. In her adult life, she lived in Santa Barbara and Eureka, Calif.; Corvallis, Albany, Newport and finally settled near Logsden. She held many jobs while raising her children and attending college. She worked most recently as a special education teaching assistant at Toledo High School. She had nearly reached her goal of obtaining her bachelor's degree when she became ill. Her joy in living and the love for her children were evident in all she did. She lived life to the fullest, and her generous spirit will live on in the many lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Franklin Simmons, and grandfathers, Mike Miller and Samuel Robb. She is survived by her children, Aryanna Elisabeth Nelson, Zachariah Daniel Nelson and Alexys Alexandra Nelson; mother, Teresa Simmons of Lincoln City; father, John (Linda) Miller of Siletz; grandmothers, Mary Robb of Logsden and Leona Miller of Siletz; sister, Alissa (Brandon) Curry of Lebanon and a large extended family. A celebration of life and potluck will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 24, at the Elks Tokatee Illahee Park near Siletz. Memorial donations may be made to Relay for Life c/o Alissa Curry, 588 Miller Road, Siletz, OR 97380. Flowers may also be delivered to the same address.
