She was 100. Mildred was born in Endicott, Wash., and lived in Aberdeen, Wash., before moving to Lincoln City in 1949. She worked at Ocean Caves Grocery (by Holmes Road), co-owned Trader Rick's Hamburgers (where the Blackfish Cafe now is), co-owned the Briney Brim motel (north of Surftides), was a part-time postmistress in Rose Lodge and sold real estate. Mildred is survived by her son, Richard; daughter-in-law, Phyllis; two grandsons and six grandchildren. After she lost her vision, she enjoyed listening to talking books and doing New York Times crossword puzzles with clues read to her.
