He was born Aug. 26, 1929 to Carl and Lillian (Bain) Gardner in Newport. He graduated from Philomath High School in 1947. In August 1950, he married Rose Simpson. He served in the Air Force for four years, worked at the mill near Adair, and worked for the United States Postal Service for many years before retiring in 1990. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose. He is survived by four children, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. At his request, no services will be held. DeMoss-Durdan Funeral Home and Crematory is handling arrangements. His ashes will be scattered in various locations. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
