He was 83. Born Oct. 26, 1926, he was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Clint was known for his humor, tall tales, great jokes and his loving way with people. Clint, along with his twin brother, Allen, were born in Klamath Falls into a family that grew to 13 children. Clint proudly served in the Navy during World War II and later moved to Los Angeles, where he married Shirley Mae Stillwell in 1952. They divorced after 27 years but remained close friends. He fathered two children - Mark Barrett (Janet) of El Cajon, Calif., and Charlene Barrett Brown (Vinny), of Alpine, Calif. - and had an adopted daughter, Pauline Boinski of Barstow, Calif. Clint took in and loved many foster children in Downey, Calif. He worked for Boise Cascade in Torrance, Calif., as a foreman until retirement in 1977. He later purchased and ran Sportsman's Landing on the Siletz River near Lincoln City. Clint was a simple man who dreamed and lived larger than life. He will be greatly missed by not just his family, but the lives he touched. Clint is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ora Ella Barrett; brothers Albert, Lewis, Irvine, Harold, Clifton, Eddie, Eugene and Marvin; sisters Winifred and Francis. He leaves behind three brothers -- twin Allen, of Klamath Falls; Herb of Yuma, Ariz.; and Lenin, of Walnut Creek, Calif.; eight grandchildren; three great-children; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A full military honors service is scheduled Thursday, June 17, at Fort Rosecrans Memorial Park in San Diego. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
