She was born March 7, 1927 to John Davis and Francis Lilly in Redding, Calif. Growing up in Chico, Calif., she loved swing dancing and music of the big bands. She was a follower of Benny Goodman, and dated George Goebel for a time. She enjoyed marriage and raising children and living life to the fullest. She worked as a waitress, serving people with the best service and always with a smile. She loved gardening, reading, crocheting and animals. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Stevens. She is survived by her sons, John Ridenoor of Mojave Valley, Ariz., David Eugene (Diane) Anderson, and Scott Allen Anderson of Alaska; daughters, Linda (Glenn) Dunning of Chico, Calif., Josephine (Craig) Thompson of Battleground, Wash., Palema (Frank) Talbolt of Mojave Valley, Ariz., and Barbara Jo Anderson of Portland; brothers, Jerry (Irene) Linse of Chico, Calif. and Dan Boucher of Texas; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to an animal shelter of one's choice.
