Sleeman Don F. Sleeman of Lincoln City died June 4, 2010, in Newport. He was 76. Don was born Sept. 10, 1933, in Portland to Leonard and Bertha Sleeman. He graduated from high school there and then went to work for the Ford Motor Company for 30 years. Don married Joanne Davitt in Lewiston, Idaho, on Feb. 14, 1953. They were married for 57 years. Don was a member of St. Augustine's, the Lincoln City Catholic church, and of the Knights of Columbus. He also enjoyed golf for many years up until his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Joanne Sleeman of Lincoln City; daughter Carol Bass of Snyder, Texas; son David Sleeman of North Bend; daughter Jan Loyer of Cambridge, Ohio; sister Darlene Poole of Tigard; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A brother, James Sleeman, died earlier. The family requests that a donation be made to the charity of your choice in lieu of flowers. Services are entrusted to Bateman Funeral Home.
