Heman Donald Raymond Heman, formerly of Lincoln City, died June 11, 2010. He was 73. Donald was born on May 13, 1917, in Rainier, Ore., to Peter and Minnie Ethel (Parcher) Heman. He was married to Edna M. Powell in 1940 and had three children: Carolyn (Hack) Williams (who had two children, Sheri and Heidi Williams), Ronald Lee Heman and Dennis Heman. Donald married Rose Fruckovitch, who died on June 22, 1982. He married Mary Jane May on May 4, 1984. She had three sons. Two - Lewis Chester IV and Miles C. Chester - are still living. Donald served during World War II from November 1943 to April 1946. He was an auto mechanic. He was honorably discharged with the rank of TEC 4 and received the American Theater Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal. Donald was a timber faller for 25 years with various firms from Tillamook to Crescent City, Calif. He was with Champion International in Mapleton, Ore., for 20 years. He started as a hog man and was promoted a number of times, finishing his career as chief engineer in 1981. He was a member of the Oregon State Grange #861, Elks Lodge #1858 and Masonic Lodge #107.
