Foster, 63, of Toledo, Ore., died June 21, 2010 at her home. She was born Aug. 25, 1946 to Curtis and Willie Matthews in Star City, Ark. She moved to Coos Bay, Ore. at the age of 6 months, and lived there for many years until after her graduation from Marshfield High School and after her marriage to David Foster on Aug. 20, 1965. She had many hobbies, such as crocheting, reading, collecting leopard print paraphernalia and cute mouse figurines, gardening, home decorating, bowling, attending theater, and gambling at her favorite casinos. She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Willie Matthews. She is survived by her husband of almost 45 years, David Foster of Toledo; her daughter, Lisa Foster of Albany; and two brothers, Travis Mathews of Keizer and Curtis Mathews of Talent. No formal services are planned per her request. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to a local hospice organization. Bateman Funeral Home in Newport is handling arrangements.
