Hello. I am a newcomer to your list. In the 1881 Census my g.grandfather, ALEXANDER AULD, together with his wife CATHERINE(Nee WARES) and eight children were shown as living in Trumland (No.4), Rousay. My g.grandfather was shown as a 42 year old "Coachman, Domestic" I am very interested to know if Trumland was a large house and who the owner might have been at that time. I presume that my g.grandfather must have been employed by the owner or possibly there might have been another large house in the vicinity who required his services. By the time of the 1891 Census the AULD family were in the lodge at Blackhall Castle in Banchory on Deeside where my g.grandfather was still a "Coachman, Domestic" I should be delighted to hear from anyone who could help me.
