I just wanted to tell people on some of the mailing lists I subscribe to that British Columbia, Canada, has a great online search facility for deaths up to 1976 and marriages up to 1921. In a short time I found people I'd been trying to pin down for a long time. I went today to look at the actual microfilms of the certificates and they are quite detailed (except for one with a lot of blank spaces). I got parents' names and birthplaces as well as medical information. Much superior to the Extracts I bought from Scots Origins (I still like their search facilty but BC's is free!) - on those there was no extra information at all and to top it off, I now think they're not mine after all - live and learn! Now, if you just have some BC relations, you're set! Go to: > http://www2.bcarchives.gov.bc.ca/textual/governmt/vstats/v_events.htm > If you don't , check it out anyway - I think it's well done. -- Pam Thomson British Columbia, Canada Proud to be a Rootsweb Sponsor http://www3.bc.sympatico.ca/TownSquareNetwork
