I have just subscribed to the Orkney list' My family research includes that of my wife's. Her GG Grandfather was James Clark who resided at "the Barnes", St Andrews from about 185? to 1877 when he and his family emigrated to New Zealand. I have a lot of details on this family plus many interesting letters including one from James Stuart, Minister, that is also signed by the deacons of the Deacons Court about his impending emigration. I am interested to find out more about "the Barnes" which I gather was a farm of about 128 acres. Regards Gerry Doyle
