Pam If you find someone who has the 1821 census could you find out where they got it from. I can order the 1841 - 1891 census but not sure about any earlier census. It seems like you and I are researching the same area yet I haven't come across any Petrie\Thomson marriages yet. I have a database of over 900 Petrie's from the Orkney & Caithness areas. If you come across any relations with the Petrie's would you let me know. If so, could you look for James & Euphan (Euphemia, Effy) TAMSON or THOMSON (or a variation thereof)- they would likely have those of their younger children who were still alive at home- Magnus about 8, Robert 11, James 19. The older children were Minney 23, Elizabeth 25, Barbara 28, Betty 29, William 31. Also, does anyone know who the parents of Magnus THOMSON who married Helen BUDGE in 1829 (also South Ronaldsay) were?
