Debbie - This is a long shot at best, but stranger things have happened in the world of Genealogy! My Mother's Father's brother was Thomas Halcrow. He was born in Kirkwall, Orkney in 1887. He married Margaret Oliver Cruickshank on Sept. 17, 1909 in GLASGOW. Their place of residence is listed in the Church of Scotland Register of Marriages as 111 Petershill Road in Glasgow. HER parents were William Cruickshank (occupation - Carter) and Margaret Cruickshank (previously Wilson) Maiden surname Oliver. I only thought this might be of interest, as she MIGHT have come from Orkney also, and they moved to Glasgow and then married. She is listed as a Confectionery Warehouse woman. Her age was the same as Thomas's at this wedding, 22 years old, so she must have been born the same year as he, or very near it. My Mother's family is WILSON related, and it is an Orkney name. If this sounds like a Cruikshank you need, I have no more information, just that from this Register. Oh, the Witnesses names were listed if you need them. Thanks for offering your family names - hope this helps !
