Linda I never saw your original post so I couldn't answer earlier. I am searching Petrie's in Orkney and I have a James Petrie Baikie born Sept. 20, 1865 son of Henry Baikie and Mary Petrie. I know it isn't your grandfather but don't give up trying. James had a brother William Isbister Baikie born Jan 10, 1867. Maybe this is your William??
