Just have to add my little bit of information to this good advice about ordering the microfilm of the Parish Registers - if you pay for the microfilm 3 times, it will STAY permanently at the FHCenter and will not be sent back to its original site. This is at least the policy in Oklahoma, I assume the other continental states, also. Not sure about Alaska and Hawaii. Fiche stay, films return unless rented 3 times. Please post for me if this is not the case elswhere. I tend to keep the films with geographical areas covered - like censuses. There is a good chance of finding another lead on the same film, and having to order it all over again anyway. Knowing the immediate neighbor's names is sometimes of worth, as they just might be relatives - not uncommon in rural settings. - Meg Greenwood / Oklahoma, USA
