Karen Acker - Hi, I have been a member of this Orkney bunch for about a year now. I am hopeful about the SHEARER name in your past - there was a marriage into my HALCRO family by a Peter SHEARER. Peter married Jessie HALCRO who was born in Orphir, Orkney on Feb 20, 1864. Peter was supposedly a childhood sweetheart of hers. They married and moved to America.
