Hello Jan, I haven't researched my thomson connectionat all, really. All I know at this ppoint is that James Sr. (b. 1847) Married May Moore (b. 1849) in Birsay. James' mother, I am told, was Margaret Shearer. I don't know if they were fron Birsay or somewhere else in the Orkneys. It Seems your Isabella would be of the previous generation.
