Janine, You wrote that you are searching the Petrie family from all of Orkney. It is possible that I have a Petrie in my direct line, but I am lacking some information to prove or disprove the link. I have traced all my line back to a marriage in 1791 between Robert Kelday and Mary Hervy in Kirkwall, but I don't know when Robert was born or who his parents were. The record I have prior to this event is a marriage in Kirkwall between another Robert Kelday and Isobel PETRIE on 19th January 1771but I can find no records of any children from this couple. Could they be my Robert's parents? Do you have any additional info? Regards John Kelday
