I do have a Mary Kennedy. She was my great great grandmother, born i believe in or about 1782 at St Margaret's Hope, South Ronaldsay and died there 28 May 1858. She married James Allan there 6 Apr 1805. There are many descendants named after her: Mary Kennedy Banks (1836-1921), Mary Kennedy Allan (1838-1905, the grandmother of Allan Lamport former mayor of Toronto), Mary Kennedy Allan (1862-1937)of Kirkwall who married James Sinclair, Mary Kennedy Louttit (b. 1813-?), and others I believe. I came across another Mary Kennedy Sinclair some years ago in the Toronto Globe but then not aware, made no note of it. So there may be some connection to the one's you mention, or maybe their parents just admired Mary Kennedy. She must have been quite a gal! Blake Allan, Victoria BC
